Let's Get Started

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, ground almonds, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, ground black pepper, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and honey until well combined.
  3. Add the egg to the butter and honey mixture and mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  8. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Once cooled, dust the paprenjaci with powdered sugar before serving.
