Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, combine the almond flour and powdered sugar and process until finely ground.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until they form soft peaks. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until the egg whites form stiff peaks.
  4. Sift the almond flour mixture and cocoa powder into the egg whites and fold gently until the mixture is smooth and shiny.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a round tip and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
  6. Let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour, until they form a skin.
  7. Bake the macarons for 15 minutes, then let them cool completely on the baking sheets.
  8. Once the macarons are cool, spread a layer of Nutella on one macaron shell and sandwich it with another shell. Repeat with the remaining macarons.
