Nutella Macarons
These Nutella Macarons are a delicious combination of a crispy almond meringue shell and a creamy Nutella filling. They are the perfect treat for Nutella lovers.
Ingredients - Serves 24
- Nutella - 1 cup
- Cocoa powder - 2 tablespoons
- Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
- Egg whites - 3 large
- Powdered sugar - 1 3/4 cups
- Almond flour - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, combine the almond flour and powdered sugar and process until finely ground.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until they form soft peaks. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until the egg whites form stiff peaks.
- Sift the almond flour mixture and cocoa powder into the egg whites and fold gently until the mixture is smooth and shiny.
- Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a round tip and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour, until they form a skin.
- Bake the macarons for 15 minutes, then let them cool completely on the baking sheets.
- Once the macarons are cool, spread a layer of Nutella on one macaron shell and sandwich it with another shell. Repeat with the remaining macarons.
