Muffaletta Burger
A delicious burger inspired by the classic New Orleans Muffaletta sandwich. It's packed with flavor from the olive salad, provolone cheese, and Italian meats.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sesame seed buns - 4
- Italian cold cuts (salami, mortadella, capicola) - 1/2 pound, thinly sliced
- Muffaletta olive salad - 1 cup
- Provolone cheese - 4 slices
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Ground beef - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your grill or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into 4 patties.
- Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of provolone cheese and allow it to melt.
- Spread a generous amount of the olive salad on the bottom half of each bun.
- Layer the Italian cold cuts on top of the olive salad.
- Place the cooked patties on top of the cold cuts, then top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve the burgers immediately, with extra olive salad on the side if desired.
