Miso Soup with Tofu and Wakame
A traditional Japanese soup consisting of a dashi stock into which softened miso paste is mixed. This version includes tofu and wakame.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 2, thinly sliced
- Wakame - 1 tablespoon, dried
- Tofu - 1/2 cup, cubed
- Miso paste - 3 tablespoons
- Dashi - 4 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a medium pot, bring the dashi to a boil.
- Lower the heat to maintain a simmer and dissolve the miso paste in the dashi, stirring well.
- Add the tofu and dried wakame to the pot and simmer for a few minutes until the wakame is fully rehydrated and the tofu is heated through.
- Serve the soup in bowls, garnished with the sliced green onions.
