Medisterpolse
Medisterpolse is a traditional Danish sausage made with ground pork, spices, and breadcrumbs.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
- Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Ground pork - 1 lb
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, allspice, and nutmeg. Mix well.
- Shape the mixture into sausage-shaped patties, about 3 inches long and 1 inch thick.
- Heat the butter and vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the medisterpolse patties to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
- Serve hot with your choice of side dishes, such as potatoes and sauerkraut.
