Matcha Dessert
A creamy, sweet dessert with the distinct flavor of matcha green tea.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Heavy cream - 1 cup
- Egg yolks - 5
- Granulated sugar - 3/4 cup
- Whole milk - 2 cups
- Matcha green tea powder - 2 tablespoons
Let's Get Started
- In a small bowl, whisk together the matcha green tea powder and a few tablespoons of milk until smooth.
- In a saucepan, combine the remaining milk and the sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Slowly pour the warm milk into the egg yolks, whisking constantly.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the matcha mixture and the heavy cream.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Transfer the ice cream to a lidded container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
