Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Creamy mashed potatoes served with rich and flavorful gravy.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Beef broth - 1 cup
- Flour - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Butter - 1/4 cup
- Potatoes - 2 pounds, peeled and quartered
Let's Get Started
- Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, milk, salt, and pepper and mash until smooth.
- In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook until the gravy is thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Serve the mashed potatoes with the gravy on top.
