Let's Get Started

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture, granulated sugar, melted butter, and egg. Mix well.
  3. Add the flour and salt to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and softened butter to make the filling.
  8. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  9. Spread the cinnamon sugar filling evenly over the dough.
  10. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
  11. Cut the log into 12 equal-sized pieces and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  12. Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  13. Sprinkle the rolls with pearl sugar.
  14. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  15. Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool slightly before serving.
