Japanese Fried Rice
This Japanese-style fried rice is packed with flavors from soy sauce, sesame oil, and vegetables.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Eggs - 2, beaten
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Frozen peas - 1/2 cup
- Carrot - 1, diced
- Onion - 1, diced
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Cooked rice - 4 cups, chilled
Let's Get Started
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- Add diced onion, carrot, and frozen peas. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add minced garlic to the empty space. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Push the vegetables and garlic to one side and pour beaten eggs into the empty space. Scramble the eggs until cooked through.
- Add chilled cooked rice to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, breaking up any clumps.
- Drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice. Stir well to combine and evenly distribute the flavors.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
