Jalapeño Popper Popcorn

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the popcorn kernels and cover the pot. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent the kernels from burning.
  3. When the popping slows down, remove the pot from the heat and let it sit until the popping stops completely.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped jalapeño and cook until it's soft, about 2 minutes.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the garlic powder, cheddar cheese powder, and salt.
  6. Pour the jalapeño butter over the popcorn and toss until the popcorn is evenly coated.
  7. Serve the popcorn immediately, or store it in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
