Jalapeño Popper Popcorn
This spicy and cheesy popcorn is inspired by the flavors of jalapeño poppers. It's the perfect snack for movie night or game day.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt - To taste
- Cheddar cheese powder - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Jalapeño - 1, finely chopped
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Popcorn kernels - 1/2 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the popcorn kernels and cover the pot. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent the kernels from burning.
- When the popping slows down, remove the pot from the heat and let it sit until the popping stops completely.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped jalapeño and cook until it's soft, about 2 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the garlic powder, cheddar cheese powder, and salt.
- Pour the jalapeño butter over the popcorn and toss until the popcorn is evenly coated.
- Serve the popcorn immediately, or store it in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
