Jacket Potatoes
Jacket potatoes, also known as baked potatoes, are a classic comfort food. They have a crispy skin and fluffy interior, making them the perfect side dish or main course.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cheddar cheese - 1/2 cup, shredded
- Bacon - 4 slices, cooked and crumbled
- Chives - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Sour cream - 1/2 cup
- Butter - 4 tablespoons
- Black pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Potatoes - 4 large
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash the potatoes and pat them dry. Prick each potato several times with a fork.
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
- Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the skins are crispy and the insides are tender.
- Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool slightly.
- Cut a cross on the top of each potato and gently squeeze the sides to open them up.
- Add a tablespoon of butter to each potato and let it melt.
- Top each potato with sour cream, chopped chives, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
