Jabchae
Japchae is a delicious Korean dish made with glass noodles, vegetables, and marinated beef.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Black pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
- Mushrooms - 100g, sliced
- Bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Carrots - 1 large, julienned
- Spinach - 200g
- Beef sirloin - 200g, thinly sliced
- Dangmyeon (korean glass noodles) - 200g
Let's Get Started
- Cook the glass noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
- In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the marinated beef until cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add more vegetable oil if needed. Stir-fry the carrots, bell pepper, mushrooms, and onion until they are slightly softened.
- Add the spinach to the pan and cook until wilted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the cooked glass noodles and the cooked beef to the pan. Stir-fry everything together for a few minutes.
- Drizzle sesame oil over the japchae and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Toss everything together to combine.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
