Irish Moss Drink

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Rinse the Irish moss to remove any sand or debris, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
  2. Drain the moss and place it in a large pot with the 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the moss is soft and the water has thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool. The mixture should have a gel-like consistency.
  4. Blend the moss mixture in a blender until smooth.
  5. Return the mixture to the pot and add the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar. Stir until well combined.
  6. Pour the mixture into a jug and refrigerate until chilled.
  7. Serve the Irish moss drink cold, over ice if desired.
