Indian Masala Chai
A traditional Indian spiced tea made with a blend of aromatic spices and black tea.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Sugar - 2 teaspoons
- Black peppercorns - 4
- Cloves - 4
- Cinnamon stick - 1
- Cardamom pods - 4, crushed
- Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
- Black tea leaves - 2 teaspoons
- Milk - 1 cup
- Water - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.
- Add the grated ginger, crushed cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, cloves, and black peppercorns to the boiling water.
- Simmer for 5 minutes to allow the spices to infuse.
- Add the black tea leaves and simmer for another 2 minutes.
- Add milk and sugar to the saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
- Strain the chai into cups and serve hot.
