Hot Spring Rye Bread

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rye flour, all-purpose flour, and yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the warm water and molasses until the molasses is dissolved.
  3. Pour the water mixture into the flour mixture and stir until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Add the salt and caraway seeds to the dough and mix well.
  5. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Grease a loaf pan with vegetable oil.
  8. Transfer the risen dough to the greased loaf pan and smooth the top with wet hands.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  10. Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
