Hood Strawberry Jam

Let's Get Started

  1. Place the strawberries in a large pot and crush them with a potato masher.
  2. Add the sugar and lemon juice to the pot and stir to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the jam for 20-30 minutes, or until it thickens to your desired consistency.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and let the jam cool for a few minutes.
  6. Ladle the jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch of headspace at the top.
  7. Seal the jars and process them in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
  8. Remove the jars from the water bath and let them cool completely before storing.
