Hangikjöt
Hangikjöt is a traditional Icelandic smoked lamb dish, typically served during the Christmas season.

- Black pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Green peas - 1 cup
- Butter - 4 tablespoons
- Potatoes - 1 pound, peeled and quartered
- Smoked lamb - 2 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Place the smoked lamb in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
- Remove the lamb from the pot and let it cool slightly. Slice the meat into thin slices.
- In a separate pot, boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter, salt, and black pepper.
- Steam the green peas until tender.
- Serve the sliced smoked lamb with mashed potatoes and steamed green peas.
