Gratin de Pates
This classic French gratin de pates is made with pasta, cheese, and a creamy sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Gruyere cheese - 1 cup, grated
- Pasta - 1 pound, cooked
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Dried parsley - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Milk - 2 cups
- Flour - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, chopped
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and bring to a simmer. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, paprika, parsley, and oregano.
- Add the cooked pasta and stir to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the grated Gruyere cheese over the top.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
