Gratin de Chou Fleur Au Jambon

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Steam the cauliflower florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, making sure there are no lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in half of the grated Gruyere cheese. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  6. In a baking dish, layer the cauliflower and diced ham. Pour the cheese sauce over the top.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining grated Gruyere cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the gratin is golden and bubbly.
