Glogg
Glogg is a traditional Scandinavian mulled wine made with red wine, spices, and citrus fruits.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Vodka - 1/4 cup
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Almonds - 1/2 cup, slivered
- Raisins - 1/2 cup
- Lemon - 1, sliced
- Orange - 1, sliced
- Cinnamon sticks - 2
- Cardamom pods - 5
- Cloves - 10
- Red wine - 1 bottle
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, combine the red wine, cloves, cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, orange slices, and lemon slices.
- Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally, until it is hot but not boiling.
- Add the raisins, almonds, sugar, and vodka to the pot.
- Continue to heat the mixture for another 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Remove the pot from the heat and strain the glogg to remove the spices and fruit slices.
- Serve the glogg warm in mugs or glasses, garnished with additional orange slices or cinnamon sticks if desired.
