Frango Xadrez
Frango Xadrez, or Brazilian Chicken Stir Fry, is a popular dish in Brazil. It's a mix of chicken, bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes, all cooked together in a delicious sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomatoes - 2, cut into cubes
- Onion - 1, cut into cubes
- Bell peppers - 2, one red and one green, cut into cubes
- Chicken breasts - 2, cut into cubes
Let's Get Started
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chicken and cook until it's no longer pink in the middle, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.
- In the same pan, add the bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Return the chicken to the pan and add the soy sauce. Stir everything together and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until everything is heated through.
- Serve the Frango Xadrez hot, with rice on the side if desired.
