Fig and Almond Crusted Figs with Feta
These delicious figs are coated in a crunchy almond crust and topped with creamy feta cheese.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh mint leaves - For garnish
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Feta cheese - 1/2 cup, crumbled
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Almonds - 1 cup, finely chopped
- Fresh figs - 8
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut a small slit in the top of each fig, about halfway down.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the chopped almonds and a pinch of salt.
- Dip each fig into the beaten egg, then roll it in the almond mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Place the coated figs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the almond crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
- Top each fig with crumbled feta cheese and drizzle with honey.
