Cider Braised Pork Shank

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. Season the pork shanks with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe pot over medium-high heat. Add the pork shanks and brown on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the cider, chicken broth, bay leaves, and thyme. Bring to a boil.
  6. Return the pork shanks to the pot, cover, and transfer to the oven.
  7. Braise for 2.5-3 hours, or until the pork is tender and falling off the bone.
  8. Serve the pork shanks with the braising liquid.
