Churros
Delicious Spanish fried dough pastries coated in cinnamon sugar.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Eggs - 3
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 1/2 cup
- Water - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and add flour. Stir until the mixture forms a ball.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Gradually add the beaten eggs to the dough mixture, stirring well after each addition.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe 4-6 inch long churros into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.
- Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar.
- Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated.
- Serve the churros warm and enjoy!
