Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  2. Gradually add the water, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it is smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  5. Roll out each ball into a thin circle, brush with melted butter, then roll up into a log and coil into a spiral shape.
  6. Roll out each spiral into a thin circle again.
  7. Heat a little oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry each roti until golden brown on both sides, about 2 minutes per side.
  8. Serve the roti warm, with curry or as a wrap.
