Bread Stuffing
A traditional bread stuffing recipe that's perfect for Thanksgiving or any holiday meal. It's packed with fresh herbs, onions, celery, and buttery, toasted bread.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Eggs - 2, beaten
- Chicken broth - 2 cups
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Fresh sage - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Fresh parsley - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Celery - 4 stalks, diced
- Onions - 2, diced
- Butter - 1/2 cup
- Bread - 1 loaf, cubed and dried
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions, celery, and garlic and cook until soft, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the parsley, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Place the dried bread cubes in a large bowl. Pour the onion and celery mixture over the bread. Stir well to combine.
- Gradually add the chicken broth, stirring after each addition to ensure all the bread is moistened.
- Stir in the beaten eggs until well combined.
- Transfer the stuffing mixture to the prepared baking dish. Cover with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
