Braised Pork Belly Ramen
This flavorful ramen dish features tender braised pork belly, rich broth, and delicious toppings.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Nori sheets - 2, torn into small pieces
- Bean sprouts - 1 cup
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Soft-boiled eggs - 2
- Ramen noodles - 2 packs
- Chicken broth - 4 cups
- Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Mirin - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Pork belly - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, combine the soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Add the pork belly to the pot and pour in enough water to cover the pork.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, or until the pork is tender.
- Remove the pork belly from the pot and let it cool slightly. Slice the pork into thin pieces.
- In the same pot, add the chicken broth and bring it to a boil.
- Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Divide the cooked ramen noodles between two bowls.
- Pour the hot chicken broth over the noodles in each bowl.
- Top the noodles with the sliced pork belly, soft-boiled eggs, green onions, bean sprouts, and torn nori sheets.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and serve hot.
