Boston Apple Pie

Ingredients - Serves 8

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well to coat the apples.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  5. Dot the diced butter over the top of the apple filling.
  6. Cover the pie with the second pie crust. Trim any excess crust and crimp the edges to seal.
  7. Cut a few slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  8. Brush the top crust with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Sprinkle turbinado sugar over the top crust.
  10. Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
  12. Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
