Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the melted butter, milk, and sugar to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat.
  6. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  7. Cut the dough into small rectangles or diamond shapes.
  8. Fry the boortsog in batches until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  9. Remove the boortsog from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
