Boller I Karry
Boller i Karry is a traditional Danish dish consisting of meatballs in a creamy curry sauce. It is typically served with rice or potatoes.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Rice or potatoes - For serving
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Heavy cream - 1/2 cup
- Chicken broth - 2 cups
- Flour - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Curry powder - 2 tablespoons
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Egg - 1
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Ground beef - 500g
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the flour and curry powder. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve the Boller i Karry over rice or potatoes.
