Baked Vermont White Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese
A creamy and delicious baked macaroni & cheese dish made with Vermont white cheddar.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Milk - 2 cups
- Vermont white cheddar - 2 cups, shredded
- Macaroni - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, then bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheese until melted.
- Add the macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.
- Transfer the macaroni and cheese to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
