Alambre
Alambre is a popular Mexican dish consisting of grilled beef topped with chopped bacon, bell peppers, onions, cheese, salsa and avocado. It's typically served with tortillas.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Tortillas - 8
- Avocado - 1, sliced
- Salsa - 1 cup
- Cheddar cheese - 1 cup, shredded
- Onions - 1 large, sliced
- Bell peppers - 2, sliced
- Bacon - 1/2 pound, chopped
- Beef steak - 1 pound, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the bell peppers and onions to the skillet. Cook until softened.
- Return the bacon and beef to the skillet. Stir in the salsa and cook until heated through.
- Sprinkle the cheese over the top of the beef mixture. Cover the skillet and cook until the cheese is melted.
- Serve the alambre with tortillas and sliced avocado.
