Yam Nua

Yam Nua is a classic Thai salad. It's a delicious combination of grilled beef, fresh herbs, and a spicy dressing.

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes - 2, quartered
  • Cucumber - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1, thinly sliced
  • Mint leaves - 1/2 cup
  • Cilantro - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 3 tablespoons
  • Beef steak - 500 grams

Instructions

  1. Grill the beef steak to your desired level of doneness. Let it rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly.
  2. In a bowl, combine the lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, chili flakes, and minced garlic. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced beef, chopped cilantro, mint leaves, sliced red onion, cucumber, and quartered tomatoes.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine.
  5. Serve the salad immediately, garnished with additional mint leaves and cilantro if desired.
