Ingredients

  • Caramel sauce - For drizzling
  • Whipped cream - For topping
  • Granulated sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Espresso or strong brewed coffee - 1 shot or 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Brew a shot of espresso or make a strong cup of coffee.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and whisk in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the hot milk into a blender and blend on high speed for about 30 seconds until frothy.
  5. Pour the espresso or coffee into a mug.
  6. Slowly pour the frothy milk over the espresso or coffee, holding back the foam with a spoon.
  7. Sprinkle the granulated sugar evenly over the milk.
  8. Using a kitchen torch, carefully caramelize the sugar until it forms a golden crust.
