Urgun Chagaan Guril

Urgun Chagaan Guril is a traditional Mongolian dish made with beef, vegetables, and noodles.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Egg noodles - 200 grams, cooked according to package instructions
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Cabbage - 1/2 small head, shredded
  • Bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 2 medium, julienned
  • Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
  • Beef - 500 grams, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large wok or skillet, heat some oil over high heat.
  2. Add the beef and stir-fry until browned. Remove from the wok and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add more oil if needed and sauté the onion, carrot, bell pepper, cabbage, garlic, and ginger until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the wok and add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked egg noodles to the wok and toss everything together until well combined.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
