Budaatai Khuurga

Budaatai Khuurga is a traditional Mongolian dish made with stir-fried meat, vegetables, and noodles.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Egg noodles - 200 grams, cooked according to package instructions
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Cabbage - 1/2 small head, shredded
  • Bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 2 medium, julienned
  • Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
  • Beef - 500 grams, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat a large wok or skillet over high heat.
  2. Add the beef and stir-fry until browned. Remove from the wok and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add a little oil if needed, then add the onion, carrot, bell pepper, cabbage, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
  4. Return the beef to the wok and add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes to combine the flavors.
  5. Add the cooked egg noodles to the wok and toss to coat them with the sauce and vegetables.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
