Tomato and Basil Bruschetta

This delicious bruschetta is made with fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, and crusty bread.

Ingredients

  • Baguette - 1, sliced
  • Black pepper - To taste
  • Salt - To taste
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh basil leaves - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Ripe tomatoes - 4 medium, diced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Let the tomato mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  4. Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush them with olive oil.
  5. Toast the bread slices in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
  6. Remove the bread slices from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  7. Top each bread slice with a generous amount of the tomato and basil mixture.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
