Som Tam is a refreshing and spicy Thai salad made with green papaya, tomatoes, peanuts, and a tangy dressing.

Ingredients

  • Salt - To taste
  • Palm sugar - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Thai chili peppers - 2, finely chopped
  • Roasted peanuts - 1/4 cup, crushed
  • Green beans - 1/2 cup, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • Cherry tomatoes - 1 cup, halved
  • Green papaya - 1 medium, shredded

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded green papaya, cherry tomatoes, green beans, and crushed peanuts.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the chopped Thai chili peppers, minced garlic, fish sauce, lime juice, palm sugar, and salt to make the dressing.
  3. Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients and toss well to combine.
  4. Let the salad sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  5. Serve the Som Tam salad chilled and enjoy!
