Sinseollo

Sinseollo is a traditional Korean dish that is often served as a royal cuisine. It is a hot pot dish filled with various ingredients and a flavorful broth.

Ingredients

  • Chicken broth - 4 cups
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Lotus root - 1, thinly sliced
  • Chestnuts - 100 grams, peeled
  • Ginkgo nuts - 100 grams
  • Watercress - 1 bunch
  • Green onions - 4, chopped
  • Carrots - 2, thinly sliced
  • Enoki mushrooms - 200 grams
  • Tofu - 1 block, cubed
  • Fish cake - 200 grams, sliced
  • Shrimp - 200 grams, peeled and deveined
  • Chicken breast - 2 pieces, thinly sliced
  • Beef - 300 grams, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.
  2. Add the beef, chicken, shrimp, fish cake, tofu, enoki mushrooms, carrots, green onions, watercress, ginkgo nuts, chestnuts, and lotus root to the pot.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Pour the mixture into the pot.
  4. Cover the pot and simmer for 30 minutes, or until all the ingredients are cooked and tender.
  5. Serve the sinseollo hot in individual bowls, making sure to include a variety of ingredients in each serving.
