Salsa Fresca

Salsa fresca, also known as pico de gallo, is a fresh and vibrant Mexican salsa made with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lime juice, and jalapenos.

Ingredients

  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Jalapeno - 1 small, seeded and finely chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Red onion - 1/2 small, finely chopped
  • Tomatoes - 4 medium, diced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, chopped cilantro, and finely chopped jalapeno.
  2. Add the lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.
  3. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve the salsa fresca as a dip with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats.
