Prime Rib Roast

A succulent, juicy prime rib roast seasoned with a blend of herbs and spices, then roasted to perfection.

Ingredients

  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh thyme - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh rosemary - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Garlic cloves - 4, minced
  • Prime rib roast - 1 (5 pound)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
  3. Rub the mixture all over the prime rib roast, ensuring to get into the crevices and on the ends.
  4. Place the roast on a rack in a roasting pan, bone-side down, and put it in the preheated oven.
  5. Roast for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to 325°F (165°C) and continue roasting for about 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
  6. Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
