All - purpose flour - 3 cups
Instructions
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a small circle.
Place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal. Place the filled pirozhki on the prepared baking sheet.
