Pesto Mac and Cheese

This creamy, flavorful mac and cheese is made with a homemade pesto sauce and a blend of cheeses.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Pesto - 1/2 cup
  • Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup, shredded
  • Cheddar cheese - 1 cup, shredded
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • Flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons
  • Macaroni - 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the cheeses until melted.
  5. Stir in the pesto and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Add the cooked macaroni to the pot and stir until well coated with the sauce.
  7. Serve the mac and cheese hot, with extra pesto on top if desired.
