Orange and Cinnamon Rolls

These delicious orange and cinnamon rolls are perfect for breakfast or brunch. They are soft, fluffy, and bursting with citrusy and warm flavors.

Ingredients

  • Freshly squeezed orange juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Powdered sugar - 1 cup
  • Ground cinnamon - 1 tablespoon
  • Orange zest - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Unsalted butter - 1/4 cup, melted
  • Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Warm milk - 1 cup
  • Active dry yeast - 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • All - purpose flour - 3 cups

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, warm milk, granulated sugar, melted butter, salt, and orange zest. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle shape on a floured surface.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and granulated sugar. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the dough.
  7. Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
  8. Cut the log into 12 equal-sized rolls and place them in a greased baking dish.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  10. While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and freshly squeezed orange juice.
  11. Once the rolls are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the glaze over the top.
  12. Serve warm and enjoy!
