Indian Saag Paneer

Saag Paneer is a classic Indian dish made with spinach and paneer cheese cooked in a flavorful blend of spices.

Ingredients

  • Fresh cream - 2 tablespoons
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - To taste
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chili - 1, chopped
  • Tomato - 1, chopped
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1, finely chopped
  • Paneer cheese - 200 grams, cubed
  • Spinach - 500 grams

Instructions

  1. Blanch the spinach in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and transfer to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onion turns golden brown.
  4. Add chopped tomato and green chili. Cook until the tomato softens.
  5. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
  6. Add the blended spinach and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Add the paneer cubes and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Stir in fresh cream and cook for 2 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with naan or rice.
