Honghap Bap

Honghap Bap is a traditional Korean dish made with seasoned seaweed and rice.

Ingredients

  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Eggs - 2, fried
  • Radish - 1, julienned
  • Carrot - 1, julienned
  • Cucumber - 1, julienned
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Short - grain rice - 2 cups
  • Seaweed - 10 sheets

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions and let it cool.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt to make the seasoning sauce.
  3. Place a sheet of seaweed on a bamboo sushi mat or a clean surface.
  4. Spread a thin layer of rice evenly over the seaweed, leaving a small border at the top.
  5. Arrange the julienned cucumber, carrot, and radish on top of the rice.
  6. Drizzle some of the seasoning sauce over the vegetables.
  7. Roll the seaweed tightly using the sushi mat or your hands.
  8. Repeat the process with the remaining seaweed and ingredients.
  9. Slice the rolled seaweed into bite-sized pieces.
  10. Serve the Honghap Bap with fried eggs on top and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
