Hearty Beef Chili

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 2 tablespoons
  • Diced tomatoes - 1 can
  • Tomato sauce - 1 can
  • Kidney beans - 1 can, drained and rinsed
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1, chopped
  • Ground beef - 1 pound

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the kidney beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve the chili hot, with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions.
