Ham and Corn Chowder

This hearty and creamy ham and corn chowder is packed with flavor and perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons
  • All - purpose flour - 1/4 cup
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • Chicken broth - 4 cups
  • Frozen corn - 2 cups
  • Potatoes - 2 medium, peeled and diced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Celery - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Onion - 1 medium, chopped
  • Ham - 1 cup, diced

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion, celery, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the diced ham and cook for another 3 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well to coat.
  5. Gradually pour in the chicken broth while stirring constantly.
  6. Add the diced potatoes and frozen corn. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  8. Stir in the milk and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!
