Garlic Chicken Stir Fry

This garlic chicken stir fry is a quick and flavorful dish made with tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and a savory garlic sauce.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Water - 1/4 cup
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 4, sliced
  • Bell pepper - 1, sliced
  • Carrot - 1, julienned
  • Broccoli florets - 2 cups
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Chicken breast - 2 boneless, skinless breasts, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets, julienned carrot, and sliced bell pepper. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and pour in the garlic sauce mixture. Stir well to coat the chicken and vegetables.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Pour the slurry into the skillet and stir fry for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
