Fried Chicken and Honey Sandwich

This delicious fried chicken and honey sandwich is a perfect combination of crispy chicken, sweet honey, and soft bread.

Ingredients

  • Tomato slices - 4
  • Lettuce leaves - 4
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Bread slices - 4
  • Vegetable oil - 2 cups
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • All - purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Buttermilk - 1 cup
  • Chicken breasts - 2

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken breasts from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off.
  5. Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour mixture, coating them evenly.
  6. Carefully place the coated chicken breasts in the hot oil and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Toast the bread slices until lightly golden.
  9. Spread honey on one side of each bread slice.
  10. Place a lettuce leaf and tomato slices on two bread slices.
  11. Top with the fried chicken breasts and cover with the remaining bread slices, honey side down.
  12. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve.
